A passion for helping others led me to complete my Physiotherapy degree, allowing me to provide my clients with high quality healthcare. I aim to find comfortable and effective solutions for everyone and enable you to get on top of your health and fitness.
I love to treat all people, whether you are an elite sportsperson, local footy player, student,
desk worker, new Mum or mature adult.
I consult at two clinics in Melbourne. At Alphington Sports Medicine Clinic and Showgrounds Village Physiotherapy I liaise closely with other health professionals such as General Practitioners, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Sports & Exercise Medicine Physicians and Registrars, Podiatrists, Dietitians and Occupational Therapists to ensure that you are receiving the best care possible! TREATMENT & REHABILITATION
Through a holistic approach to rehabilitation I view each patient as a whole rather than a symptom to be treated. I rehabilitate according to your lifestyle, goals, work/sporting commitments and hobbies. I am highly experienced in manual therapy, Dry Needling, exercise prescription, strength training and Clinical Pilates. Please read below for more details.
Yes, as a Physio I complete manual treatment, exercise prescription etc., however I also advocate for self-management, health promotion, enhanced rehabilitation and injury prevention. I aim to assist my clients in gaining confidence, not just in their bodies but in themselves, allowing them to live their best lives and improving overall health rather than purely physical.
WHAT I OFFER
Soft tissue therapy to reduce pain, increase joint range and quality of movement, improve nerve mobility, increase muscle length and restore normal function
Dry Needling to deactivate trigger points, increase blood flow, reduce pain, restore normal muscle length and regain muscle power
Joint mobilisations to improve joint range of movement, relieve capsular restrictions and distract impacted soft tissues
Patient education to ensure my clients understand what is going on with their body to enable them to feel comfortable and involved in their rehabilitation
Exercise therapy (1:1 or Group Exercise Classes)
Exercise therapy has been scientifically proven to be one of the most effective ways to manage pain and injury, strengthen muscles and improve function.
I am highly experienced in exercise prescription and will prescribe the most appropriate exercises and exercise dosage for you depending on your rehabilitation timeline and goals.
Exercise therapy can comprise of bodyweight strengthening exercises, weight training, stretching and Clinical Pilates-based exercises to meet your specific needs and ensure optimal rehabilitation.
I am also trained in delivering the GLA:D Program, a successful education and exercise program developed by researchers in Denmark for people with hip or knee osteoarthritis symptoms.
